1950 Chicago Coin Play Ball pinball machine Building Location: Main_W2 Game Type = EM
The 1950 Chicago Coin (CCM) Play Ball is a re-make of
the 1934 Rockola World Series baseball game. The original
Rockola was a pure mechanical game (no electric.) The
CCM Playball remake is electric, and much bigger.
The Rockola used very small balls, where the CCM version
uses a standard 1 1/16" pinball. The electrified CCM
version here actually plays a lot better than the
original 1934 Rockola version, and we like it a lot better.
It's fair rare, being over 60 years old! The object is
to get as many runs as possible, like any other baseball.
But it's all about the ball delivery, as there's no
flippers on this game.
This is the actual game at the VFW Pinball Museum.
